The program
What's the difference between your program and a typical lawn-care service?
We test the soil before we treat it, calibrate every blend to your property's specific needs, and one person (Colby) does every visit. Most lawn-care companies apply the same blend to every property on the route on the same day. We don't.
Why six visits and not more?
Because that's how many applications a Cache Valley cool-season lawn actually benefits from. More frequent applications past that point either burn the lawn or waste product. The six visits are spaced to hit specific growth and soil-temperature windows.
Do you offer mowing?
No — we're a turf-health company, not a maintenance company. We focus on what's under the lawn (soil, nutrients, root system) and the seasonal applications that drive a healthy plant. We're happy to recommend mowing companies we trust.
Can I do just part of the program?
Generally no. The six visits are designed to work as a system — skipping the pre-emergent makes the broadleaf visit harder, skipping fall aeration costs you next year's spring green-up. We can build a custom program for special situations, but it's the annual program by default.
What if I just want one weed treatment, not a full program?
We offer one-off spot treatments for common Cache Valley weeds — dandelion, crabgrass, clover, plantain, bindweed, and more. Pricing is $115 base + $0.008/sqft ($145 minimum), with a follow-up spot-check at 14 days. No contract. See the Program page for the full list of weeds we treat.
Pricing
How is pricing determined?
By a transparent two-part formula: $95 base per visit + $0.0075 per square foot of treatable lawn area. The base covers soil testing infrastructure, drive time, setup, calibrated spreader work, and continuous perimeter pest coverage across 5 of the 6 visits. The per-sqft rate covers product, application, and lawn-specific blending. Your exact square footage gets measured at the on-site assessment with a wheel — no satellite guesswork.
What does a typical lawn cost?
A 10,000 sqft lawn (a common Cache Valley size) works out to $170/visit, or about $1,020 for the full six-visit annual program. A 5,000 sqft lawn runs around $132/visit. A 20,000 sqft estate runs around $245/visit. Use the calculator on the Program page to estimate your own.
Why not just charge by lawn size like everyone else?
Pure per-sqft pricing forces a company to either skip the small lawns (no profit) or skim time off larger ones (worse service). The base+rate model means we can give every lawn the same attention — soil testing, calibrated applications, written notes — without losing money on small properties or padding the rate on big ones.
Do you require a contract?
Yes — for the annual program. We commit to all six visits in a year because the soil testing and the application sequence depend on each other. If you need to cancel mid-season for a major reason (move, illness), we'll pro-rate fairly.
When am I billed?
Per visit, on the day of service. You can also pay annually upfront for a 5% discount — deducted from your annual total at the assessment.
Soil testing
How is the soil tested?
We pull a 12-point soil core sample using a stainless steel probe at ~4 inch depth, composite the cores, and send them to a state-accredited soil testing lab. Results come back in 5–7 days as a full chemistry panel.
Do I get a copy of my soil report?
Yes — every customer gets a written copy of every soil report, emailed within 24 hours of receiving lab results. It's yours to keep, regardless of whether you stay with us in future years.
What if my soil report shows something serious?
We tell you, plainly. If your soil needs more than a fertilization program can address (heavy clay, severe pH issues, contamination), we'll lay out the options — including ones that aren't us.
Scheduling
How much notice do I get before a visit?
You'll get a text 48 hours before each visit confirming the day. If weather or soil conditions force a reschedule, you'll get a text the morning of, and a new date within 5 business days.
Do I need to be home?
No — but the gate to your back yard needs to be unlocked. We leave a yard sign and email a visit summary either way.
What if you can't access my back yard?
We leave a door hanger explaining what happened, and we reschedule the back-yard portion at no charge.
Pet & family safety
Are your products safe for pets and kids?
Yes — when used correctly and after the labeled re-entry window. Most of our applications are safe to return to within 1–2 hours of drying. We post the re-entry time on every yard sign we leave.
Do you use synthetic or organic products?
Both, depending on what your soil report indicates. We don't pretend “all organic” is a one-size-fits-all answer — sometimes it's the right choice, sometimes a specific synthetic product is more effective at lower dose. We'll explain what we're applying and why.
Switching from another service
I'm mid-season with another company. Can I switch?
Yes. The simplest path is to finish your current company's contract, then start with us in the fall (aeration visit) — that's your strongest entry point into our program. If you're unhappy and want to switch sooner, we can build a partial-year program.
What if I don't like the program after a year?
You're not obligated to renew. Our entire business model assumes the work speaks for itself — most customers stay because the results are visible. If you're unhappy, tell us, and we'll figure out whether it's something we can fix or whether you'd be better served elsewhere.
